Hey Everyone,
Yesterday was my long awaited trip to Adelaide China Town as a late Celebration of my 27th Birthday!
My fiance Nathan and I had a nice amount of spending money and we met up with one of Nathan's long standing friends.
Over the next few blogs I will be reviewing some of my purchases from the two Asian Grocery stores I visited while we were there.
Today, I am reviewing "Kuai Kuai Brand" Corn Snacks.
These caught my eye with it's bright pink packaging, printed with cute little chibi style characters.
The first thing that surprised me was the size of the packet itself, the actual weight of the product totaled 52g but the sizing of the packaging gave the impression of a bit more than that, but I guess that would be to provide air cushioning for the corn snacks themselves.
I was delightfully surprised when I opened the packet. They smelled so yummy, creamy and sweet and distinctly of Strawberry.
More surprisingly, was the color of the corn snacks. Pink!
As for the taste, they really did taste as good as they smelled.
This is always important to me, because nothing is more disappointing is a food that smells awesome but is a big let down in the flavor department.
Flavor specifics- The strawberry flavor is pretty prominent! You can taste the strawberry flavor quite easily and it doesn't have that over-the-top sugary taste, now if you are an eater of strawberries you will know that they aren't a berry that is all sweetness, there is a slight tang to them.
These corn snacks had that lovely sweet but tangy taste of strawberries, but then came the creaminess of the Condensed Milk.
The unique thing about these corn snacks were that they had a slight savory taste to them but this for me was not unpleasant.
All in all, these Corn Snacks were a successful purchase, the flavor hit was just right, the corn snacks were bright and cheery and definitely more-ish.
The size might be a let down for some for the $1.98 price but I think the over-all fun experience of eating these might make up for that.
My opinion is that if you see these in your China Town travels, pick a packet up and give them a try :D
Until next time,
Eerie <3
